We all have something that keeps us going. For thousands of Iowa veterans healing from physical and psychological traumas, it’s the game of golf. The Golf for Injured Veterans Everywhere Foundation (GIVE) helps them get started.
Serving 2,000+ veterans since 2007, GIVE was already a big deal when MACLYN started working with them back in 2022.
Their old brand, however, failed to communicate this.
It was outdated. The messaging wasn’t very clear. It just wasn’t doing them justice. So, we put our heads together and did something about it.

Our discovery sessions revealed that, at its core, GIVE is about changing lives. Golf is merely a catalyst for this, a way for servicemen and women to connect while working together to overcome perceived limitations both on and off the course.
Veteran support needed to be the focus.
This inspired me to develop 3 distinct brand pillars for GIVE — empowerment, camaraderie and accessibility — laying the foundation for our new creative approach. After that, it was time to execute.
I took the lead on all things messaging-related, from a reimagined value prop to a new website, brand film and beyond.

Awareness doesn’t build itself. Following the launch of GIVE’s new brand, I helped GIVE stay in the spotlight by regularly writing social posts, blogs, digital ads, emails and pretty much everything in between.
